About Us
Established for over 10 years, Banscol Boarding Kennels provides a complete service to ensure that your pet’s needs are met in every way during their stay with us.
Our small, friendly, family-run business offers a peaceful setting for your pet’s stay. Set in a quiet, secluded location, our comfortable and cosy boarding services are ideal for all breeds of dogs, and will give you complete peace of mind that your pet is in safe hands.
The Kennels are owned and run by Sarah and Richard. Sarah is passionate about all animals and has been involved with dogs and horses most of her life and enjoys the variety of characters the kennels get. Richard Claydon has over 20 years experience working with dogs and has an understanding of canine behaviour. He is a trainer of all types of gundogs but his passion is Cocker and Springer spaniels and has many award winners under his belt.
We aim to offer a flexible and affordable boarding service and are open 7 days a week for your convenience – we welcome visits and inspections (by prior appointment) and discussions about your pet’s individual requirements.
Pricing: From 1st January 2025
Per 24hrs from time of arrival per dog £16.00
From 1st October onwards £18.00
Dogs staying one night (24hrs or less) per dog £20.00
If you collect before your agreed pick up date, the full price of your original booking will remain payable on collection.
Any cancellations under 48hrs notice will still be chargeable.
How to Find Us
We are located in a beautiful rural location in Sutherland, 8 ½ miles off the A9 close to the village of Rogart. This is a quiet area, without the usual distractions of everyday life and noises for your pet to relax and enjoy their stay with us.
Coming from the North down the A9 turn right before the bridge in the center of Brora to go along the North side of Loch Brora towards Rogart.
From the South approach us from Pittentrail on the A839 Lairg Road or Golspie from the A9 at the back of the Golspie Inn.

We put our beloved Roxy to Banscol for 4 weeks, she was really well looked after and was fed and exercised well and came back really happy and chirpy. Despite Banscol being 1.5 hours from us we will be using them regularly in the future – also they gave us some diet tips!
Best kennels by far. We arrived home to see that all 6 dogs were in fantastic shape, very happy and obviously enjoyed their time with sarah and richard. Lovely kennels, super friendly. Our 2 Springer’s stayed here for their very first ever visit to kennel. They were so well looked after and both came home happy.
